Lie back and think of England?

I'm not particularly interested in the Royal Family, I have never understood why people treat them the way they do, buying mugs with their pictures on or queuing to catch a glimpse of them. However, each to their own. I do have a sort of respect for them, in the sense that the Queen, rightly or wrongly has a degree of authority and I honour that, not particularly for her sake, but more because I think respect is a good thing in society and if we don't respect others then we probably don't respect ourselves.
