Yeah, Bay Area news reporting isn't always the most reliable. They too probably heard that it was the ATT stores not having the iPhones for walk-ins and got confused like everyone else and reported an incorrect story.
But hey, if people want to rely on that, get discouraged and not wait in line, more iPhones for me, bwahahhaah.
Also, Apple would have announced if they weren't going to have any devices for walk-ins.
I totally agree with you. haha... I hope it does discourage some from lining up.

Look what happened to Dell when they focused on volume at the expense of their profit margin.
I can't say Acer will be successful, but they probably can't have too much of a positive long term view with a diminishing profit margin

Ok, I have a query right now that pulls all the events out of a table. It works great. However, I want to add one condition to the query... my setup is as follows:
1. The first table (events) contains the events and their data. It consists of: eventID, eventTitle, eventDateTime, etc.
2. The second table (events_to_categories) contains: eventID and categoryID. This table just links the events to the categories they belong to. One event can belong to multiple categories (leading to multiple rows in this table with the same eventID).
My original query is as follows:
SELECT YEAR(`eventDateTime`) as `year`, MONTH(`eventDateTime`) as `month`, DAY(`eventDateTime`) as `day`, `eventID`, `eventDateTime`, `eventTitle`, `eventDescRaw` FROM `events` ORDER BY `year`, `month`, `day` ASC
I would like to be able to narrow down my results from all events returned to only events with specific categories (assigned to them in the second table). For example, to pull all events assigned to the category id of 1. Or even multiple categories, such as events that are in category 1 or 2... just not all events. How would I go about doing this? For more background on this, here is the original thread (but I figured it was mostly solved and deemed this a separate question): http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1136892
Thanks in advance! :)

It's cute that people think Comex actually ever made a working Jailbreak for iPad 2.

Google ships not a single phone. It provides a free OS (from which it makes little money) to handset makers that sell phones. None of those handset makers sell a phone as popular as the iPhone, and all of them combined do not make as much money doing so. If one is comparing iOS (all devices) to Android (all devices), recent data suggests iOS is the more widely used.

This is just out today. HTC Thunderbolt outsold iPhone at Verizon. There's goes your cute little theory.
Make no mistake, this is an amazing quarter for Apple, but it's not the only one doing well in the smartphone boon.

Yes, but we don't exactly know when that will come out. Look for it AFTER Vista (if that can happen) ;)
I would be willing to bet big money that MS Office Universal Binary is ready to go right this minute.
There is no way Monkey Boy Balmer is going to let the Mac Business Unit release it before Vista and the New Windows' version of Office!
Can you imagine the press release - "Well we are pushing back the release dates of Windows Vista and Office. We want to make sure that it is absolutely perfect. However, we are releasing Microsoft Office Universal Binary for the Apple OS X operating system". It just ain't gonna happen

Local DNS would be the main LAN side solution.
There are also programs that can extent Bonjour services outside the local LAN, but that would be a VPN side solution on the individual clients.

Infinidock. Nuff said. I find Infinidock and Infinifolders to be two of the more valuable tweaks for jailbroken devices.

I have another question, I have my airport extreme set to only allow the specific MAC addresses of the devices I'm using. Would I be able to continue to use this feature with a switch?
Yes. Switches do not strip MAC addresses like routers do.

Hi all,
My first post on this site and already I am on the want..
I'm looking to upgrade the HDD of my Mini, current specs below.
I would like to take it up to 1.5TB or 2TB. It is something that is in my sphere of capability so not so worried about the actual doing of it.
Can anyone recommend a HDD that would be suitable and would fit?
Thanks,

I've used: Ghost Armor, Wrapsol, Invisible Shield and BodyGuardz and I can say with complete honesty they are all nearly the same.
Invisible Shield tended to be the most 'orange peel' like, but other than that they are all the same product for the most part, just different cuts.
I'll put it this way, I would order from any of the companies again, they've all provided great support/warranty service, and I was satisfied with all of them.
With that said, every one of the products tends to come off after awhile (usually 6-9 months) but I would always just pay the 2-3$ and get a replacement.

Touche Aristo, I forgot about the HDMI output on iPad 2.
Only thing I see people on this board having a problem with (beyond allowing you to access their private network) is also giving you their optimum online login credentials, with which you can use to access their email, among other things.
Not saying that no one would do it, but I wouldn't give that information out--especially since the credentials I am using to login with are not my own.
But if you work out some sort of rules with somebody, I am sure some one would grant you access.
Just my $.02

If they truly plan to release a new device, not about the music, but designed for video users, then who cares about one hand? When you have the attention available to be watching video, you probably have two hands available too (at least I hope you're not watching this while driving). I think the interface could be very awesome and extremely easy to use if someone could get the engineering right to ignore accidental input and always respond to intentional input.
