screen is scaled 16x10 format (don't know if that's right or not) - key shape/layout is unknown.
again, these are renditions, not the product itself. Although, I'd buy one...I think the buttons would be way too small to use them. But the overall looks would be quite nice.

Since the new iMacs came out the minis seem pretty expensive to me since u get a better processor with the iMac than the mini .... ??? :confused:

I guess Creative just broke even. :)
And it probably ended up costing Apple less than litigating the 5 lawsuits.
What's most interesting about the settlement is that it doesn't seem like Creative got much in the way of cross licensing out of it.

The 21.5" has thunderbolt too....does that mean you can use it as an external display as well? :-)
Likely not. The last 21.5 had Mini Display Port, and could not be used as an external monitor. Would be nice though.

I have an original mac portable sitting next to my 11". Laptop design has only downsized from this original beast and gotten faster.
I am not impressed yet. Incremental updates, nothing major or breakthrough.
That's just how it will always be. I'll hold onto this 11" for 8 years and guess what. It's replacement will be just an 11" roll out touch screen computer.
That is where this is going in 8 years and I am still not impressed.

Thunderbolt is not a supplement to DisplayPort. It is a downgrade to DisplayPort.

Somebody cast doubt on the HDMI thing, I don't know - just seemed like the easiest option to get video into an iMac. You don't have to worry about all the different methods of getting TV (free to air, digital, cable) because if you have a HDMI-enabled receiver it would just plug into the back of the iMac. You'd need to use the receiver's remote to do all the channel changing but Apple could offer some sort of recording program. EyeHome could do something with it too? I'm no expert, just trying to look at a simple solution for a complicated, fragmented problem.

As i recall apple was the first to call applications apllications. Windows uses programs. So why dont they use program store? Or prog store? They never used apps or applications nor they didnt complain before, they just hatin couse they want to profit from the name apple made famous and everyone thinks of apple's app store when the term is being thrown around.

Yes, when you are a vendor at a show there are strict rules. It's in the contract. If you purchase a booth you have to stay in that booth, period. Booths are available on first come first serve basis usually with returning vendors getting the right of first refusal for booths they have held previously. The ends and large booths near foot traffic are more expensive and they command a higher price. Some shows, fewer today than before, allow for "cigarette girls" or "strollers" but the vendor pays for this as they would for any other perks�and they are not cheap. They are generally given a specific time period in which they may walk the floor (if in costume they need a chaperone). They are not allowed to transact business but hand out "freebies". According to the story Greenpeace only signed up for a booth. All contracts I have seen say you'll get thrown out if you don't obey the rules.

And yes I'm one of those people that will not slow down, but continue driving the speed limit. Flash me all you want, and tailgate all you want. The my mirrors are tinted for people like you, and the closer you get, the better view of your license plate I get to call into the police.

This is why I avoid Michigan like the plague that it is. ( no offense to decent people that somehow wound up there )

In that case, you were only listening to the ignorant. USB ports were common on PC systems a year before the toxic plastic CRT Imacs shipped.

I upgraded a half dozen systems in early 1997 - yep, they had USB ports. I built a system with an Asus P2L97-S motherboard in fall '97. Yep, USB ports.
When "USB first showed up", only PCs had it.
But, no surprise, few devices were available at the start of 1998 and software support was erratic.
Have fun debugging Apple's ThunderPort support. If the new MBPs couldn't run normal programs without locking up and crashing - do you really think that after waiting months for your ThunderPort disk drive (no price listed, that's scary too) that it will "just work".
It probably will work most of the time after the second firmware update. You may have to wait for the "early 2012" MacBooks for it to always work.

Is everyone forgetting about the "special" dock kit Apple sells with "yellow" and S-video as well as audio out jacks on it, and a nice little remote AND another charger and sync cable? With the old 320x240 shows, it was barely watchable, lots of artifacts and about like fair quality VCR tape. With the new 640 x 480, the output is VERY watchable, not quite as good as DVD but better than my DirecTV digital signal. And, this little bundle of usefulness costs $99 and is available NOW. I have used one since about Christmas of last year, and it works pretty well. You DON'T have to wait for the iTV or confine your viewing to the computer screen or an ipod.
