This provides many possibilities for students and educators because activities incorporating images, sound, and technology are multifaceted. This provides educators the opportunity to teach with multiple entry points and use many different artistic vehicles for one project. I also like the freedom a "sound" or an "image" gives to students. They have a chance to really be creative and innovative.

This class session based on sight and sound reminded me of an artist Christian Marclay, who recently had an exhibit at the Whitney museum. Marclay's works incorporated sound and images and it was really incredible. One piece even included a visual score, where musicians played based on emotions that were triggered by images shown on large screens. John Cage uses sound to create music and his scores are based on not just sound, but silence. His scores are really based on the interpretations of the musicians / directors. John Cage reminds us that beauty is found in everything and all sounds, even that of silence.
