May 2011 Update « J. Whitman's Artist Updates

Last month brought some awesome things that will take place during this month! Here's what to expect: I've entered the TRON: Legacy Reconfigured Remix Opportunity contest on Indaba Music! The popular vote decides the top 20, then Jason Bentley of KCRW will choose the 10 runners-up from the top 20 along with the grand prize winner from all the remixes submitted! I feel extremely confident that my remix will win this contest, so please go to http://www.indabamusic.com/opportunities/tron/submissions/54681 to cast your vote for my remix of "Derezzed"! "Full Spectrum" has a slight delay in its release (due to financing problems), so I'm planning on a July 12 release date. That will give me more time to master the whole album and prep it for digital release. I've been working on the physical CD design, so all will be ready (hopefully) for July! In the meantime, I'm releasing my latest collaboration with Victory through all the major online retailers on May 10! Look for "Feel Good? (feat. Victory)" at your favorite online retailer! Speaking of collaborations with Victory, EML Recordings has re-released "EML Network, Vol. 1" which includes "Back in the Game (feat. Victory)"! It's available through all the major online retailers, so get your copy today! On the production side, I've finally acquired all the GarageBand JamPacks, so I'm ready to go on tackling any and all future sound design and music projects! Next item on the acquisition list: Logic Studio 9! Progress is being made slowly on the old material reboot, but I must admit that it's sounding awesome so far! I still need to re-record a lot of the vocals, but I should have the reboot done before the end of this year! I plan on starting the "J. Whitman Presents" mix tape project during the summer, so keep your submissions coming!
