A great way to relieve stress and anxiety is to write it out…
It's hard to keep all of your emotions bottled up, but sometimes you can't really find the words in the moment to clearly express how you feel. Get a pen and some paper, or just sit in front of your computer, and write! It's a natural remedy to stress and anxiety. As you write, sometimes you stumble upon an easy way to solve the problems that have been eating at you.
A blank page can be intimidating, but just start writing. Here are some questions I think about before I get going.
"Who and what got me so worked up?"
"Why did I react the way I did?"
"If there really is a problem, how can I make this better?"
Other good advice can be found at the Writing in Red section of our website.
Sometimes, curing that anger or pessimism that gets you down can be as easy as cooking yourself your favorite meal, taking a bath, lighting some scented candles, getting to sleep early, taking that yoga class you've wanted to check out for so long, meditating for twenty minutes in your backyard, or even just taking some DEEP BREATHS.
Breathing exercises are sometimes the most soothing of all stress relief techniques. Breathing techniques can be simple or complex, but just taking a moment to sit and think about the amazing creation that you are can be the most wonderful. However, today is not only about relieving stress and solving personal problems. It's also a day to promote a deeper understanding of women's general mental disorders. The Women's Health Website discusses the impacts of depression on women and shows the seriousness of a sometimes-neglected disorder. A good FREE book to learn more about the struggles women face can be found here.
Women's Health Awareness Week is coming to an end, but that doesn't mean all the great habits we've discussed this week need to end today. As you organize your mind and refill your brain with good thoughts, remember what you've done for yourself this week.
You've gotten yourself physically checked out. You've exercised. You've eaten right. You've avoided risky behaviors. And, today you're taking it easy on yourself by de-stressing. Don't let what you've learned today be a one time thing. Think of every week as Women's Health Awareness Week, and you'll keep yourself healthy and in good shape.
Good luck! And, remember to tell all your friends about Women's Health Awareness Week. It's all about getting the word out there. Also, tell them about the Maxim Hygiene blog, and comment! Let us know how your women's health week went.
Love,
Maxim Hygiene Green Queen
